About Us

CDP Vox · Voice & Memory of the China Democracy Party is an independent communication platform affiliated with the Chinese Democracy Party. It was founded under the personal guidance of Party Chairman Dr. Wang Juntao and spearheaded by Chen Peng, with the mission of documenting historical truth, preserving democratic legacy, and uniting the voices for freedom.

Throughout China’s modern struggle for democracy, generations of dissidents have made tremendous sacrifices—some went into exile, some were imprisoned, and many have passed away. Their voices and ideals must not be forgotten, nor erased.

CDP Vox exists to preserve this memory in the digital age. We refuse to let history be silenced. We pass on the torch of truth across generations. It is a tribute to those who came before us and a commitment to the future. We believe that one day, democracy will flourish on the soil of mainland China.

About Dr. Wang Juntao

Dr. Wang Juntao (born in 1958) is Co-Chairman of the Chinese Democracy Party National Committee. He is a renowned political dissident, scholar, and activist, with a lifelong dedication to democratic reform in China.

  • Education:
  • B.S., Department of Technical Physics, Peking University (1978)
  • MPA, Harvard Kennedy School of Government
  • Ph.D., Political Science, Columbia University
  • Political Background:
  • Arrested in 1976 for participating in the Tiananmen “April 5th” Movement at age 17;
  • Labeled a “black hand” behind the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests and arrested alongside Chen Ziming;
  • In 1991, sentenced to 13 years in prison for “subverting state power”;
  • Endured hunger strikes in Qincheng Prison and was released on medical parole in 1994, later exiled to the United States.
  • Contributions to the Movement:
  • Continued to promote democratic values, civil society, and international awareness of Chinese human rights issues;
  • Elected Co-Chairman of the Chinese Democracy Party with Wang Youcai;
  • Articulated the principle that “Democracy is not just a memory—it is a responsibility,” serving as a spiritual guide for CDP Vox and the broader movement.
